what to wear

So, the holidays bring a lot of situations where we have to dress in something other than our standard jeans, top and flats uniform.

For me, it's not so much office holiday parties, but family affairs.

This year, Zach's distant cousin (don't ask, for God's sake, don't ask) Tyler and his new bride Ashley are throwing a "we got married, we bought a house" casual cocktail party for adults only.
Right.
Color me confused as hell-o as to what I am supposed to wear. I started to panic (shock!) that I wouldn't have the right thing to wear because I stock up on summer dresses, and winter ones, not so much.
So I browsed about five or six of my usual online haunts and after coming up with nothing, I finally just went back to Anthropologie because I can always find SOMETHING I love on their website.
But it's usually not cheap.

BUT NOT TODAY!

I found a dress, regularly priced at $138 that I had wanted on sale for $30-- and tights for $16!

Yup, I think these'll be pretty darn cute together, with my Jessica Simpson Collection Capry boots (in new bomber espresso). And for quite a good price, too.

And that's one less thing I have to think about.

just catching up on your blog! now that its private it doesn't pop up in my reader anymore. boo. your christmas tree is oh-so pretty!

and um, I could not live with out my daily dose of pasta. For real, I eat it every single day of my life. It is the reason I will always keep an extra 2 or 3 pounds on my short little self and that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make!

That outfit is going to be great! Why are you bummed about the cocktail party? We throw adults only ones all the time, I didn't know they were really annoying, YIKES!

Thanks all!!

@cMe-- not bummed... it's just *really* far away, the same day my FIL is getting "unplugged" from his chemo pump... don't mind the "adults only" part, if it meant "nice cocktail adult" and not "kegerator in the garage adult."
