sooner than i thought

alright! i got my cords (thank goodness) a lot sooner than i thought i would be able to, and since my husband and big dog are asleep in the living room and my baby's gone to bed already... i'm in the office so i don't disturb anyone.

so enjoy our week in pictures... as usual, you'll see more of liam than anything else. he's too cute.

{liam's gg got this in ireland for him.}

{before we moved in- liam's first attempt at a nap in his new house}

{watching mom put the kitchen together.}

{discovering his feet}

{with his godfather- uncle cory!}

{happy boy in his bumbo while mom and dad work on the speakers.}

{big boy holding his own bottle}

{testing out his new mattress before we put his bed together.}

{the kitchen- no longer a work in progress!}

{jethro and lily got comfy quick.}

{priorities. installing our surround sound speakers.}

boxed in.

I am sitting at my husband's desk (with difficulty).
At my husband's desk in his office.
In his office at OUR house.

My baby is asleep in his crib. I have to say, the move into our own home has provided me with oodles of stress- and my husband as well. But one thing that has gone smoother than I could have anticipated is Liam's transition into our new home. My baby literally when from having to get up during the night and sleeping in our bed because he refused to sleep in his crib to sleeping through the night in his own bed. What? I know. Crazy. He's such an angel- he's also started taking a regular nap in the afternoons. It's been heaven when I'm trying to get unpacked.

I have my kitchen in order- it's got a lot more space than I thought it really did- we can get a table and chairs and a china hutch in the kitchen and still have tons- and I mean tons- of space to walk around.

My bedroom has a bed and our furniture in it- but it's not organized yet. But we're sleeping here and that's what matters. My living room has two chairs and a coffee table. Our TV is sitting on a fish tank stand. But we're in our house. The office is piled high with boxes and the garage is full of junk- trash mostly.

I apologize for the lack of pictures. It's Wednesday and I haven't had a chance to go over to my in-laws to get either my computer power cord, my camera cord, my phone charger or my camera battery charger. Little things that I always remember to pack but my husband forgets (because I always do it).

Wish me luck with my goal- I want the house organized enough that a Christmas tree can be put up this weekend!
*and lament with me- no football game for us tomorrow! we've decided it's going to be too, too much for liam. it's going to be cold- COLD. it's going to be loud (right ags? nothing touches kyle field on tu game day!) and it's going to be a long drive. so the tickets have been sold and i don't know what we're doing- but i'm watching the parade!*

Hopefully I'll update again soon with pictures and what not- I can tell you all missed me so much. Ha.

Christmas Pictures.

We're very pleased. We met up with Nena early last Sunday and I was especially pleased with how well she was able to get Liam to cooperate with her. I hope you enjoy this little preview-- leave Nena a little love. She's a sweetheart!

bite me.

If you're human and have been paying even an iota of attention to what's going on in pop culture, you're aware that New Moon comes out at midnight on Thursday. Or for those of us with small children and a realistic idea of what she's capable of, Friday. I recently turned my mom onto the series. I loaned her the first film and she loved it, so she bought the books... and the Barbies. So we're going on Friday. Liam is coming too. I am going to the film armed with my nursing cover (as a last resort) and multiple bottles. Here's hoping.

However, it's been ages since I've seen a movie get so much merchandising hype before it's even been released, and most of it revolves around where your loyalties lie.

For the water drinkers out there, there are these handy declarations.

(I totally have these coming in the mail for my mom and I- guess who gets which.)

Nordstrom has been instrumental in meeting the demands of Tweens/Twilighters everywhere. If you're a So You Think You Can Dance fan, you might have spotted Mollie rocking one of their tees in rehearsal last week...

I seriously love the tag on the Jacob tee-- "because Edward bites?" Hysterical.

But did you know there's another rivalry out there?

Are you Team Edward?
Are you Team Jacob?
Or are you Team Bill?

Or you can be Team Eric, like me :)

one. more. week.

... until we're in our own home!

We did our walk-through yesterday and finished up the last of the paperwork for our lender. We're going back out tomorrow for our follow-up and then all we have to do is wait until closing.

The house is wonderful... I have appliances!!

{my kitchen...}

{my first dishwasher of our married life- so friggin excited!}

{seriously. should appliances make me so happy?}

{liam in his bathroom}

{my kitchen again. can't wait to replace the plug covers!}

{home. sweet. home}

We're fitting in Christmas card photos in between dealing with all of the house stuff. I went today to get attire for the outfits I got to choose. We're doing 2 different outfits- one I picked, and the other is all Zach.

{mommy & daddy}

{liam's choices}

Finally... enjoy some pictures of my cutie!!

{love}

...and you're going to have to step it up, readers! Leave a little love, let me know you're still reading and that I'm not posting to the internet equivalent of a brick wall. And I promise to write more next time- I've written this whole post with my left hand, and that's anything but my dominant hand!

Looking forward to tomorrow... contemplating a trip to Ooh La La for a Thursday special marble cupcake!

our weekend in pictures

There's a lot going on with the Clarks and I don't have a whole lot of time to write a wordy update. Needless to say, I'm still photographing every little thing that Liam does (well, that's an exaggeration) so you can enjoy his weekend- in photo form.

{not really from the weekend: liam has decided that he needs to carry things. he first decided he needed the raccoon ornament that's in the bag, then i gave him the bag and he carried it out of the store all the way to the car. he was very angry with me when i took it away to put him in his car seat.}

{how i keep him happy while i'm getting ready in the morning- it must be something about mascara... }

{enjoying my first bubble bath.}

{watching football on grandma nancy's ottoman. he wet through his other clothes so he had to run around the rest of the evening with a size 2T shirt on.}

{wearing uncle brad's hat}

My mom cooked dinner for all of the Clarks on Saturday night after she, my mother-in-law and I had a fun girly afternoon with my mom's Mary Kay lady. My father-in-law brought along their younger dog, Emmy, who's a few months younger than my mom's youngest, Tucker. They loved it!
{emmy and tucker}

{emmy on tucker}

{emmy has a thing for cats- cats don't seem to like emmy. my brother's cat, turk, got cuddled up against me and emmy sat and watched him for ages.}

crib for two

...I just took this picture.

Apparently, I shut Lily in the baby's room with him.
This isn't an odd occurrence, she runs in every time we open the door. If you haven't seen Lily in a few hours, check the nursery.
What she chose to do in the nursery, however, was a first.

You know, he loved it. You could hear him squealing and cooing to her. When I snapped the photo, she was rubbing on his hands. By the time I got upstairs to get her out of the crib (yes, I'm a responsible parent, I didn't leave her) she was curled up by his side purring away.

I really did think that Liam and Jethro were going to be the inseparable duo, and it's looking like it's going to be Liam and Lily. Oh Lordy.

Just. Had. To. Share.

wanna laugh?

Does anybody else think Christopher Walken is hysterical?
(need I remind you of the cowbell sketch?)

Check out this link for a hearty har-har.

If you want to see this in context: This episode of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross will be on at 8 pm central time on BBC America tomorrow.

Can I also say...
... one of my absolute favorite, favorite, favorite artists is going to be IN Houston next Wednesday AND I CAN'T GO. I haven't seen him since I was a senior in HS! But Zach's on call and has work the next day and really, we shouldn't spend our money on concert tickets when we're getting ready to buy a house. Sometimes, being a grown up just plain sucks. *sigh* I've missed Aerosmith, Metallica and NOW Rob Zombie all in a 4 month period.
B-U-M-M-E-R.

November 4, 2009

*sigh*

... been feeling a little neglected lately. I guess its just the results of people having a lot going on and not a lot of time to share, but still...

At least I have my two boys who make me feel like the luckiest mama in the world!

Also... I need a new cell phone- and I get an upgrade soon. I don't want a BlackBerry because I've seen my dad hate his, and my husband is constantly having problems with his. We're Verizon users and I'm not willing to leave "The Network" for the iPhone. Does anyone out there use an htc with the Windows operating platform? Anyone heard anything about the Droid? I just need a little guidance. Any referrals would be much appreciated.

no-no-november

Even though this month is the National Blog Posting Month or whatever, I regret to inform you that I will not be participating in the daily updates. One reason: I have an infant. Blogging (though I love it) takes time away from bath time and that's actually more fun. Another reason: I'm moving soon! Hooray! Our house was being cleaned and our yard sodded today. We'll be doing our walk through in a week and closing in *gasp!*- TWO! We'll be closing on a Tuesday and so I think I'm going to sweet-talk my mother into helping me paint the rooms we want painted during the week and then we'll be moving in over the weekend. When we'll have internet at the house is something I don't know and I haven't joined you all in the 21st century and cannot access my email over my phone. Therefore, I'm warning you now, there may be quite a period where I'm unreachable except for texting. So 5 years ago, I know. Ha.

My mom and I headed out to our house on Monday to check out all the wonderful finishing that has gone on. Our carpet is in- and I am so much more thrilled with it than I thought I would be! The blinds were put in... the cabinet got fixed (!!!) and things are looking homey and beautiful. Liam was the first to really christen the new carpet...

{doesn't this just scream mister mischief?}

{bar/baby bench}

{my beautiful, fixed, glass front cabinets}

{blinds, carpet, crown moulding and the much-hated light fixture}

{joy. plain and simple.}

Mister Man has been changing a lot lately. He's developed an ATTITUDE. He has an agenda and you better be on board with that. He also is a mouthy child. He just talks and makes noise and groans and grunts and plays with his voice all the time. He's rarely quiet. It's pretty funny. He's decided he likes his daddy- THANK GOD! He laid with him for a long time this evening. He loves, loves, LOVES his daddy's Arnold voice. Not sure what I mean? My hubby's favorite actor is Arnold Schwarzenegger and he does a mean impression. It gets the biggest smile out of our itty bitty- his face just lights up. It's priceless. He's just a joy. We're crazy about him. He rules the roost, he really just commands everyone's attention in the evenings, but during the day he's my little snuggle bug. I know I'm not going to be able to just spend the day doing nothing but hold him in the coming weeks so I'm trying to get my fill now! Here's a few pictures of Liam Lately...

{in my walker}

{my feet touch the floor! just barely}

{figured out how to put sophie in my mouth. champ.}
