What's happened since I saw you all last? I've been back to the OB- she's fantastic, and we were checking my blood sugar to see whether or not I had Gestational Diabetes. Since I have PCOS, I'm supposedly at a heightened risk for it while I am pregnant. Luckily, no Diabetes, but I am anemic. Which... yeah. Of course, I suppose that only having to take Iron supplements every day is better than having to do insulin, so that's fine. Of course, Zach had a million questions- ones I couldn't answer. How did they know I'm anemic? What kinds of tests did they do? How much blood did they draw (I knew this one- not much)? I feel so silly when I get home. I really am married to a soon-to-be Doctor.
I got home on Friday afternoon and spent a wonderful weekend with my hubs, who had an actual weekend! We kind of had a weekend of firsts... he took me out to dinner on Friday night, which was wonderful. We were going to watch Twilight, but we got to talking, and I'd rather do that than watch a movie every day. Saturday, we spent the day hanging out- we ran and got Jethro ear wash- but for the most part we spent the day at the house together, which was fine. The only bad thing about it is that I got to spend the day picking things up in the afternoon because our landlord decided to let us know that he was planning on having an open house the next day. NOTHING like a little warning. Saturday we actually got a menu from a local Asian restaurant, and decided to check it out for dinner... fantastic. Sunday, Zach's parents came to see us after Church- we'd gotten up early to do yard work and get breakfast. Then we wen to Heirloom Gardens for the first time with them, got dinner and went to get the dogs rawhide and the cat a fresh catnip plant. Then we went to Shivers and got shaved ice for the first time too. Zach decided we needed to watch Saving Private Ryan when we got home- it was the first time I'd seen it, so it was a good way to end our weekend of firsts! So that makes it... first dinner at J&J's, Twilight together, first trip to Heirloom Gardens, first visit to Shivers and first time seeing Saving Private Ryan.
A good weekend, and a horrid Monday- I woke up at 3:20 this morning with overwhelming nausea, and had to suffer through that- took medication and was finally able to get up at 4:15 and use the restroom, thank goodness. But then I woke up every hour or so after that with pain in my abdomen. It was all the baby, the position he was in, his kicking and what not, but it made for a miserable night's sleep. I even stayed in bed past 9:30, I was so tired. So I'm trying to recuperate today, eating bland food...
I know I'm going to love my son more than anything, but I am so NOT loving what he's putting me through!
