*sigh*
What a Monday. I'm horrible at Mondays, and I'm even more despondent today than usual. Zach found out yesterday that he and his group were going to have to go on an overnight, so he's gone and I'm sad. He'll be back tomorrow, naturally, but what makes me sad is that I have to leave on Wednesday because I have an early morning appointment with my OB on Thursday morning. I'll get one, ONE evening with my husband this week. That is not enough, and it makes us both exceptionally pouty.
We didn't even have a good day yesterday. We spent the whole day at home, but it wasn't a peaceful Sunday spent. We got a message from our landlord Saturday afternoon asking to show the house on Sunday at 3 pm. Uh, crap? We were in Houston, and had plans to come back Saturday night anyway because Zach was on call all day yesterday, but it was not a pleasant thought to have to come back to College Station and spend the whole day cleaning. We were up fairly early- both of us before 9:30 in the morning (...on a Sunday, no less!) and after a not-so-leisurely breakfast, we got straight to work and I didn't stop until about 2:45. However, my house was spotless for the landlord and the potential tenants.
For the landlord that didn't show up and the potential tenants who walked into the house, down the hall, peeked into rooms and didn't ask a single question about the property. So THAT is what I spent my whole Sunday preparing for? Zach and I didn't much mind that the landlord didn't show- he sent some student he's got working for him instead, and we were glad for it since we paid a pet deposit on our four legged creatures, but not on our others (seriously, wouldn't it be just too silly to pay $100 to keep a tarantula?). I was beyond frustrated when they left after 2 minutes.
The one redeeming thing? The girlfriend of one of the guys looking at the place exclaimed quite nicely over our "master" bedroom (I say "Master" because every bedroom is the same size and it's just the one we picked to use) and Zach said the boys lingered longer in the doorway of our game/gym/spare room.
1 kind words:
BTW I love you :-)
