toddler tuesday: the chicken & the egg

No, I swear, this isn't a joke.

It IS the inaugural Toddler Tuesday post, so I thought I'd start of with something that's pretty much the BIG thing in Liam's life right now.

We bought these around Easter (duh) and Liam played with them a little, but in the last two? three? weeks, they've become his faaaavourite toys. He's always liked the egg, but the chicken has also gotten popular and now the chicken and the egg come everywhere with us.

They're the first toys we grab when we get out of the tub, they're the toys he takes to bed with him. They go in the car, they go outside, they go EVERYWHERE.

Last night, when I was getting Liam ready for bed, Zach went on the nightly chicken and egg hunt. Usually, Liam keeps pretty close tabs on them, so they're pretty easy to find. However, Liam had apparently decided that they both needed to go to the movies with us because Zach found them in my tote bag! I didn't even know Liam had put them in there!

How cute is Liam in his size 4 jammies? Ugh. I love.

Moreover, he's obsessed. He literally slaps at every other pair of PJs he has and cries if we even think about putting them on. Zach and I might have to just pick up a couple more pairs for his birthday so that he can have a clean pair every once in a while.

We have our nighttime routine down P-A-T. 

I say "ready to go night night? Where's your egg?"

He gets the chicken and the egg, kisses daddy goodnight and heads into his room.

He goes straight over and watches while I turn on his music (the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack) and his night light (the turtle).

Then I pop him in bed and he lays down with his head on the pillow, clutching the ever present toys.

Funny kid. 

He cracks me up.
