The fabulous Meredith tagged me with the Honest Scrap award and since I was going to post anyway, here's 10 new, current things.
The Honest Scrap Award
The Rules:
1. Tell your readers 10 things that are true that they might not know
2. Tag 10 other bloggers to do the same.
The Ten:
1. I finally have some dilation- only 1 to 2 cm but heck, something is something and that's all I'm saying! However, on the down side, my OB said that Liam has retreated back further into mommy- so instead of dropping like a good boy should, he's being stubborn. Already.
2. I must admit, Meredith is my mommy idol. I just hope once my son arrives I'm able to look as calm, put together and collected as she has been able to since she brought Carson home.
3. I feel the need to eat at Lopez at least once a week. The queso alone is worth the trip.
4. I crave peanut butter and potato chip sandwiches. But it has to be white bread, creamy Jif peanut butter and Ruffles potato chips. It's not a pregnancy craving- my mom and aunt eat them too.
5. My maiden name was Small. My Grandpa Rodney told me that a while back (around the Great War) we changed the spelling from Schmal to Small to distance ourselves from our German roots. Interesting... My mom's maiden name was Schreiber, and we claim Liev Schreiber as kin, whether or not it's true.
6. My husband and I share a best friend (Cory), and he's our baby's Godfather. He's coming in to town today to spend the 4th of July weekend with us and we're ecstatic- we haven't seen him since October. Isn't he going to get a sight when he sees me?!
7. I think my Dad looks like Tom Cruise. My BFF Lindsay and my husband agree. I think my daddy's terribly handsome and I hope my son looks like him, however... My husband is also terribly handsome and can look like either Leonardo DiCaprio (ew- for his politics and his attitude) or Matt Damon depending on the day and the way he's holding his face. Either way, a good draw.
8. I miss specific foods from the places I grew up- I miss lefse and Mozelle from Norway especially and Mud Cake from Miss Maud's, White Chocolate Magnum bars and Raspberry Schweppes soda from Australia. I have tried to locate these various items online and it's proved difficult.
9. My favorite video game is Mario Kart for Nintendo 64. I rock at it- ask my hubby. It's the only video game out there where I can handily beat any opponent. I spent a long time practicing when my brother wasn't home so that when he'd get back he'd find all his records for fast times had been replaced by my own. Mean, yes. Fun, oh yes.
10. I fear toads and frogs. I haven't always- it was a special on the Animal Planet that did it- there's a toad or frog that carries its babies in holes on its back, and when I saw that image, it creeped me out so much that now I can't handle any frog or toad. I am not such a wuss that I can't handle them when they're behind glass, though. But I'm not afraid of spiders and snakes. In fact, my pet tarantula is a particular favorite.

3 kind words:
Oh, Stefanie, your daddy is lots better looking than Tom Cruise. Yuck. A friend from long, long ago said he looked like David Gates from Bread. I don't see the Leo-Zach connection, but the first time I met Zach I thought he looked like Matt Damon's better looking brother! I also wanted Brad to look like my daddy, and he definitely has those Schreiber looks.
You are SO SWEET! Thank you for the mommy idol comment... goodness, I don't feel calm and put together, glad it comes across that way!
I went in to labor 1cm dilated sister... so don't be discouraged, it could happen at any time!
Praying for Liam's arrival. xoxo
Have you tried Mario Kart for the Wii yet? It gives the 64 version a good run for it's money. (Yes, now that I have moved and have no job, I have had time to discover things such as this haha!)
