It's been a week since I last posted and I figured I better jump on it! I have a lot to post about, so this is going to be both long and picture filled- a bit of a change as of late. I have yet to go to the doctor today so I'll be posting an update either later today or tomorrow morning about Liam's progress (or lack there of, which usually seems to be the case!).
{UPDATE}
The doctor said we still have very little progress with Liam- still no dilation. To make matters worse? My 2:15 appointment was highlighted by the fact that the power had gone out in the building earlier in the day and the AC hadn't come back on when the power did. So on a day when it reached over 100 degrees, in my OB's office full of preggie ladies, the AC was out. H-O-T! Also, the lady who used the restroom before me had somehow managed to get her urine sample all over the seat of the toilet and didn't clean up after herself. Ew, ew, ew! Not a great visit, but oh well!
Zach and I spent yesterday evening ordering new t-shirts for him and some prizes for the baby. A whole, whole lot of Zach's clothes got thrown out in our move to Richmond (cue massive cringe) and he decided it was high time to replace a few shirts, and so we got a Metallica dining set for Liam and a Rob Zombie bib that says "spookshow baby" (it's the name of one of their songs). Zach's excited to dress his boy in things that make him particularly happy. Today we're on the hunt for Liam's UFC "crib fighter" onesie and, perhaps, something Northwestern?

1. Liam's Baby Shower!!
My mom threw a wonderful ladies' shower for Liam on Saturday. It was adorable, she went all out and made me and baby boy feel very special. It was really nice to get to see Mandy and Ivy especially, since it's been ages since I last saw them and I was so glad Ivy could come- she's such a busy girl! Zach was an angel and stopped by to pick up presents and do a quick tour of duty. I think he was glad when he walked in and saw Lindsay, Liam's Godmother, because (besides my momma and his) she was a familiar face. Liam was showered with lots of love and lots of wonderful things!
{disclaimer: I had NO idea I was so huge until I saw these pictures... oy.}
Mommy & Me!
{me}, Christine, Mandy and Ivy!
Thanks, Miss Emily!
Liam's swing... which is too cute.
From Mandy- this one I'm really excited about!
Talking with Mandy and Ivy
Liam's getting some love!

I have worked with/known these girls for years and years! I look forward to their company every summer- except we left Mandy all alone this year :(

Me and my Baby's Daddy {he's so cute!}
2. Nowhere to go...
Zach and I have accumulated quite a few things for our lucky little man- and Zach's been the best about getting things put together and helping me figure things out. What a good daddy!!

I found Zach a metal Radio Flyer wagon- he didn't want plastic!

A massive accumulation- I'm slowly but surely getting through everything and trying to find places for it all. Keep in mind we don't have much in the way of "storage space."

Liam's car seat- it finally came on Monday and Zach's already gotten his base installed in his truck. In fact, he installed it not an hour after we got said seat in the mail. :)

Lucky Zach got to put together the swing his parents gave us at Liam's shower. It wasn't hard, but it was in a lot of pieces. It's cute, versatile and not too heavy- plus it makes "nature" sounds, which I thought was neat. It scares the dogs, though.

Liam's present from his Uncle Ross and Aunt Trish {Talbert} -- my cat has decided she wants to join Liam in his tummy time when the time comes.

Daddy putting together Liam's Jeep walker. It's really funny- and I can't wait to watch him scoot himself around the house in it. I foresee much destruction because of this toy.
3. Liam's Nursery: Ready and Waiting!!
We've gotten the nursery into shape and now it's just waiting for the baby. I'm not finished washing all the mattress pads and whatnot for the bed, but at least we have a bumper now and that's ready to go for the most part. Aunt Darlene single handedly stocked Liam's changing table... please excuse the paper labels on all the drawers in the room- it's helpful to me to have them, especially since things are still getting sorted and put away and Zach and I have to share the dresser in Liam's closet with him... my poor baby doesn't even get his room to himself.

The view from the door- the bed is slowly being taken over by stuffed creatures... which is fine, I'm sure he'll love it.

Liam's changing station- with Nigel the Pelican on the wall.

My favorite thing in the whole room. I love the seagulls and I love his name :)

Liam's crib! You can really see here how much work went into the room- it's quite something... I love how the bumpo seat matches the walls as well.

My parents went to Walt Disney World in May and in addition to bringing Liam home the cutest little outfit for NEXT summer, they brought him home Bruce, the shark. This stuffed animal talks and says more phrases than any stuffed animal I've seen before- I hide Bruce away when people are coming because I don't want him getting messed up, but here he is in his rightful place. The lion is from the same line as my own beloved Bunny- the YumYums, which was a thing for about 5 minutes in the mid 80's. I've always wanted each of my kids to have their own YumYum, so Liam gets the Lucky Lemony Lion (I have the Jumping Jellybean Bunny).

Liam's PACKED closet- I've kept it set up cute for my own pleasure- I like looking in and seeing his little Pediped shoes and his baseball cap and all the other cute little things... I like the closet. Not really sure why.

What started it all... not really. I bought this when Zach and I went to Walt Disney World for Spring Break in March of 2008. We had no plans to get pregnant, I wasn't pregnant or expecting to be but I saw this and knew I had to have it. Needless to say, I am very glad I did. It's also a favorite thing.

Mommy and Daddy's diaper bags. We each picked out our own, and I wasn't about to make Zach suffer through mine, since it's so feminine, so he got his own.

Finally, the shelves over Liam's changing table. I love all the little things up here... I'm sure they won't look anything like this once he arrives and I'm practically using them every day, but I can set them up cute for now!
If you made it to the end of the post (and actually read!), congrats! I know I had a lot to update on, and it's difficult for me to find a lot of time to sit and write at the moment. I'm a busy momma-to-be, my husband is home for a couple hours in the afternoon for lunch (it's heaven) and then I usually have lots of places to go and things to do in the afternoon when he's gone back. I'm hoping tomorrow can be a slow, calm day and I won't have a lot to do so I can really tackle all of the things I need to before Liam arrives.
Can you believe I haven't packed a bag for the hospital yet? Oh, I know, I need to and badly. He can come at any moment and I keep reminding myself I need to get that done, but I get overwhelmed when I walk upstairs and see all the work ahead of me. I also really need to find some mommy friends in the area- I'm desperate to find companionship during the days for myself and my baby (when he comes).
So before I get whiny and to feeling sorry for myself, I better go. I have got to go get ready to go- my mommy will be here to pick me up before you know it and my hubby could walk in the door at any moment. Keep your fingers crossed I come home with good news- or at least news that will be good to me- I'm hoping I can deliver my son when my dad can be present... so let's all pray for that!
2 kind words:
What a great nursery. Carson would be in heaven... he LOVES Meemo & Dewey (Nemo & Dory!)... I almost teared up when I zoomed in on the closet and saw the very same Pedipeds I had for Carson. We ABSOLUTELY love Pedipeds, they are the best shoes for boys! (Crocs are the best for summer)... can't wait to meet sweet Liam. Hang in there mama, on a few more days til the BIGGEST blessing of your life! You look beautiful.
Oh, and I love your Mia Bossi bag... so fab! I love mine so much!
