As I blog, my husband is contemplating his potential birthday purchase, and I've got my hair tied off my neck in an attempt to keep myself from vomiting. What an Easter Sunday!
Zach and I got up to go to the 8:30 service at our church, we got cleaned up and ready and my stomach decided to leap into my throat about 10 minutes before we were meant to leave- I took my medication, tried to choke down a few crackers and was miserable through most of the service. Which stunk, because our Pastor, Roy, has gotten a fabulous new appointment and next Sunday is his last- this Sunday being the last we could make it to. I was sad that I was so distracted by my discomfort that I couldn't really focus on the sermon. Ugh, and the constant up and down about did me in!
My Mom and I made plans for us to go out for breakfast after we got done at church- and she was an angel and drove all the way to The Cracker Barrel because that's where I wanted to go. It was so, so yummy, and even though we got wet in the process, I loved my breakfast! I was an idiot, and I asked for milk, though. I can't just drink milk at the moment- it makes me nauseated. So, like a moron, I forgot and ordered chocolate milk and then felt bad because she brought so much to the table and drank more of it than I should have and that hit me when we were on our way home. I felt awful, running straight out on my mom after breakfast, but I had to fight hard when we got back to keep my breakfast down- and I couldn't take any more medication because I had already taken one that morning. I have spent more time meditating over keeping my food down today than anything else, I think!
At least I can look forward to next Easter, pregnancy free!
We had a busy weekend... poor Zach and I are so tired! Saturday, Zach and his mom packed his truck bed full of furniture and moved it into storage so we could start setting up the nursery, then we moved around all the fabric from her quilting room and moved armoires and linen chests and changing tables... it was a busy, busy Saturday morning- Zach's dad spent it at the church decorating the huge cross that he does every year with flowers. We went and spent the afternoon at the Downtown Aquarium, which I love. It was exhausting, though. We got back and Zach went across the street with his parents to see some family friends and I stayed behind to talk with my mom and to get Zach's laundry going, because at 6 pm I realized he didn't have any clean khakis to wear to church!
We found out that my husband's family is going down to Rockport in August. We don't think we'll be going. I'm sure I could pack my he-child into the car and take him down, but at a month old, I'm not really keen on it. Besides, I don't want to leave Zach... maybe I can even talk my mom into taking the week off and she and I can spend the whole week playing with the baby. He'll be about a month old, give or take a few weeks (God willing!) and maybe she and I can go and find him the perfect jogging stroller, and about a million other things that we decide he needs! I'm sure I'll really, really have to twist mom's arm HARD to get her to consider taking a week off work to spend it with me and the baby! Second week in August, Mom!
