a better place

I haven't posted in a while, mainly because there's been nothing of consequence to post about. I'd rather not have to post today, but I figure it's worthwhile to let everyone know what's going on with me. 

My grandfather, Rodney Bowman Small, passed away shortly after midnight last night. I don't really want to go into the details, but he's been in hospital since October 3rd, and I'm happy to know he's in a better place and no longer suffering. My father is flying up to Kansas tonight, and my mother, brother and I will follow on Monday morning, then flying home Thursday. I'm heading back to Sugar Land tomorrow, taking the big dog to his Grandma and Grandpa's house...

This comes as a significant blow to our little family, as Zach and I had been hoping so much that our grandparents would have the opportunity to meet their great-grandson. As some of you know, we lost Grandma Clark 10 days ago, and to loose my grandfather so shortly after has been a hard pill to swallow. Poor LL has lost two wonderful great-grandparents in these past two weeks, and we're very saddened by it.
