yum, musk

I drink a lot, a LOT of water right now, but sometimes it gets boring. I have gone through the Gatorade and am pretty tired of it (besides, it makes me kind of jittery) and don't really want to go through all the sugar that's involved with Kool-Aid. Even though there's nothing better than a pitcher of freshly made Cherry Kool-Aid. I had an epiphany and decided to get online and look for a great solution, and wound up on SimplyOz.com. While the vast majority of you won't really appreciate what is available to buy, I was really excited. It brought back a lot of memories! And while looking through the "lollies," I found this...

I know what you're thinking, those look kinda good. That's what my brother and I thought the first time we got them in a goodie bag at a carnival at my school. They look like sticks of bubblegum, right? WRONG. They are as described on the bag- they're sticks flavored with musk. Their texture has been described as eating a stick of dried out frosting... and recalling the taste and the violent need to spit it out after a big bite, I can tell you this is not a flavour I would want to pick up again. It was like eating the smell in a clean boutique shop, or... really, really old Avon's Skin So Soft. I was so turned off, I almost didn't continue going through the site, but then I found these:

These plain jane cookies (biscuits) are so incredibly tasty. I saw them online and couldn't stop thinking about them. They're a multi-purpose biscuit (I can't call Aussie cookies cookies-it's wrong...and to me they're not cookies) that is commonly used to introduce babies to solid foods, buy crunching one up and mixing it with milk. Their flavor is pleasant and not overtly sweet, and while they're very dry, they're kind of just what I want when I need a munchie and can't find anything in the kitchen. They were so cheap, and I can't wait for them to come in the mail! They'll last a long time too, because whereas with Oreos, I cannot just eat one, one of these Milk Arrowroots is enough to make me a happy girl. However, they weren't what I was searching for, but I found that too!

Raspberry Cordial. Y-U-M. It's not like it's the healthiest thing in the world, but you get a lot less sugar than with Kool-Aid and that's fine by me. Also the flavor is a lot less sweet, more light and yet it's not a flavored water. It can be rather hard to describe. It's pretty exciting that there will be something else in my fridge that I'll enjoy drinking. Of course, it's not a substitute for water itself, but it'll be nice to break up the monotony and not use soda to do it. I'm excited. Yum.
