standing ovation

So I've decided that I'm just not going to be able to blog as often as I would like to. It's just not possible. If I blogged every two days, I can tell you what it'd say:

"Liam moves a lot. We're watching Kung Fu Panda again. HE'S SO FAST. Errands. Ashley Brooke is a great friend/talented artist. Food."

So I'm not going to push myself, I'm going to blog when I have something that I think warrants blogging about. Besides, I'm thinking I'm mastering in redundancy lately.

Since I last blogged, a few fun/good things have gone on. My Dad got back yesterday, and gets to stay until the 23rd! Isn't that fantastic! It's my dad's first time coming home to their new house. He's very happy, and my mom's done a fantastic job getting it in to some kind of order for him. He got home last night at 6 pm and then this morning, he and my mom got up and headed out to close on their old house, and as of 3-ish, they had their papers done, money had changed hands (and cleared!) and they've washed their hands of two mortgages. I'm so thrilled for them that everything is done and they won't have to deal with the crazies anymore.

In our immediate world: Liam has decided that standing up in the middle of the floor is the best idea ever. He's *this* close to being able to just stand up. Sounds like nothing- I know. I mean, not pulling up, not pushing himself up with his arms. He bends one leg out to the side and plants the foot on the ground. He folds the other leg under himself and pushes up- so that he's on one knee and the other foot is planted on the floor. And he keeps his balance. I'm serious- I think he'll be standing up by himself before too much longer. Um. He's also trying to talk. Judge away, judger-mc judgingtons- he hasn't quite figured the talking out too much yet. But you find me another 9 month old who's *this* close to standing up all alone. AAAAAAANyway. He's working hard on 'mama' and 'dada.' Today I was over spending time with my parents, and I was eating a Chupa Chup, and I started sharing with Liam. Then he started farting around with my mom, and so I went back to my lollipop and all of a sudden he yelled "MAMA!" and hung his mouth open for my lollipop. It was pretty funny. He and my dad then sat and watched Kung Fu Panda- my dad hadn't seen it, and Liam watches it ~5 times a week. Yes, we love Po that much.

{thinking i'm nifty under my walker.}

{i went to pick up lunch, left him home with his daddy and this is what i saw when i came home. precious.}

{yes, he watches sunday night programming on premium cable- and has good taste!}

{master of the blue tunnel.}

{break from play time.}

{he thought he was so funny for pushing over his tent from the inside. what a goober.}

We're looking forward to a fun weekend. I know my dad's ready to have a good time, and we've got a lot to celebrate, too! Of course, Sunday is Mother's Day -- MY FIRST! -- so we're all looking forward to that, but Sunday is also my baby brother's 21st birthday! We're all going to go out to dinner and he's going to have his first margarita. I have a super special bottle of Australian soda coming in the mail for him- sadly, it won't be here in time for Sunday, but he'll get it. Yes, I bought him soda and not liquor. He's still got finals to take- the last thing he needs is alcohol! Besides, he is very conscious of being a responsible alcohol-allowed adult. He wants to be an elementary school teacher, and his dream will be dashed if he has any missteps, so I'm very proud of him for knowing that some things are more important than going out and making an alcoholic ass out of yourself. Also I've given my opinion on being a parent seeing your child's teacher getting drunk in public and I think he really understands what I mean- I just can't see where that would leave me with an easy feeling.

I will try to take pictures this weekend. I just realized it's been a week since I had my hair done and I haven't got a single picture of it. Kind of sad. I've come around to it- I really wasn't sure I liked it very much for a few days. Also- be checking back regularly next week as this little slice of cyber-space is going to be revamped. I got a new blog header from Ashley Brooke Designs this week, and the wonderful, sweet mama who did *this* blog design, Marina of Penny Lane Designs, is in the process of incorporating her design with Ashley Brooke's header. I cannot, cannot, CANNOT wait to share this with you. The image is precious- and it's such a fabulous representation of our family.

All for now, sweet friends and family! I am hoping to have some fabulous things to post at the end of the weekend! Until then: Happy Mother's Day!
