bo & val get married (otherwise known as a kennedy family comedy of errors)

Introducing, Mr. and Mrs. Bo Kennedy! It was a beautiful wedding, we had a lot of fun...

... but let's run down how we got to this point.

Woah.

Friday as we were getting ready to head to the rehearsal, we heard from Roger and Steph that Bo had managed to get an earlier flight out of N.Carolina and was heading in to surprise Valerie, who didn't expect him at the rehearsal, but at the dinner. We were ecstatic- she would be so excited!

Um. Until we arrived at Prince of Peace and found out that Bo's flight out of Atlanta had gotten CANCELLED. Not delayed, cancelled. So Bo was stuck in an airport in Atlanta, with a dying phone, and not a car in sight for him to rent to *ahem* drive to Houston. Through the rehearsal, the groomsmen were planning a Hangover style trip to rescue our stranded groom. He finally got a flight out of Atlanta at 9:45 the night before his wedding, and didn't get into Houston until 2 in the morning the day OF his wedding.

We headed home Friday night expecting our troubles were over. Ha. HAHAHAHAHA.

My hair and makeup lady arrived early at our house Saturday morning, and made me bea-u-tiful. Okay. Zach spent the morning running the dogs to the clinic to board over night, running to get the dogs food, running to get us a last minute lunch. Nikki the hair girl left at 11:40. We were supposed to leave the house at noon. Um. I power packed myself, Liam and Zach and got everything together and ready to go.

Until we were on Westpark Tollway and realized that Zach didn't have his hair "stuff," an undershirt for his tux, or dress socks. We put in a call to Roger, who was already up in the church area and he offered to run and buy for Zach. Excellent! Issues solved. Until Roger couldn't find a Target or a Walmart to save his life. Oy.

Liam and I dropped Zach off at the church at 1:10 (due there at 1:15. score!) and headed to the hotel. Steph came down to help us in and we fed him lunch, got him changed and ready to go. I went into the bathroom to change into my beautiful, chocolate brown, newly altered Bagdley Mischka satin jumpsuit. I asked Steph to do the hook up, and as she zipped me up, the zipper snagged and split. Um, BELOW the zipper. So we tried to unzip it to fix it. The zipper wouldn't budge. We called in Darlene. The zipper wouldn't budge. We thought about sewing me in- until we got a little nervous that when I went up to do my reading and showed reverence, my zipper would split the rest of the way, revealing a very pretty pair of Hanky Panky panties. So. At 2:00 Steph, Liam and I headed to the mall. To buy a new outfit. For a 2:30 wedding. That I was reading in.

I POWER shopped. I literally ran through Macys, screaming at people. It was frightening. BUT! I found a beautiful Ralph Lauren dress (in a size 2!!!!) that was on SALE that fit me and I paid, changed in the dressing rooms and was in the car in 5 minutes. Beat that, people. Seriously, I'm like, crazy about that dress. It's gorgeous and has a *story.*

Dear Lord. But we made it on time. I didn't LOOK like I was a sweaty and nasty as I felt, so we were all good.

HAHAHAHA.

The ceremony went off without a hitch (Dear Lord, thank you for that. I appreciate it.). I didn't fall up the steps in my shoes which didn't stay on my feet because I was so sweaty (gross?). I didn't stumble in my reading. I got to sit next to Valerie and Bo during the scripture readings, which was special. I won't ever forget sitting next to the bride on her wedding day, during the ceremony.

The reception wasn't far away and we all got there easily, nobody got lost and the location was beautiful. The only issue during cocktail hour was that they were using a mix to make margaritas and they were naaaaa-sty! Liam got cr-an-ky during the beginning of the reception because the poor kid hadn't taken a nap. So I decided to feed him dinner. I plopped him in my chair and started feeding him, only to look down at him and see a huge wet stain all over the chair, and all over his lap. Oh yeah, he'd totally peed himself. At the wedding. And I'd been in such a panic rush out of the hotel room that I had forgotten his extra clothes. Super. My kid totally spent most of the reception naked.

Finally, around 9:30 Liam couldn't take it anymore and we grabbed Steph and Aunt Betty and headed back to the hotel. When Zach came in about 45 minutes later, we found out that the old Cutlass convertible that Bo and Val were going to take away from the reception was a no go. Justin, Bo's brother/Best Man had run out to get the car for them while they were getting ready to go away and broke the key off in the club. Bo and Val had to leave the reception in Justin's black charger and they had to take a hacksaw to the club to get the Cutlass free to drive back to the hotel.

And then Liam woke up 6 times during the night, drove both Zach and I to the very edges of the bed and then the AC wouldn't work well.

All in all.
Um.
