two four & more

I have been a truly neglectful blogger, for that I'm sorry!

Last Tuesday was my 24th birthday. I was so lucky to get to have my birthday on a Tuesday since that meant that Zach was off and able to spend the whole day with me. This has been great, since I also got him home all day on our anniversary. I'm not going to know what to do next year, when both occasions fall on a Wednesday. We had a pretty low key day, we went to lunch and sat outside (heaven! September in Houston- it's unheard of!) to appease the young man. Then we went over to the mall where Zach let me pick my birthday present and then we shopped around Pottery Barn and got some great new ideas for our living space in our house. We then drove out to our house... which we do all the time, just to see what was happening. We hit Best Buy on the way home to break a bill and then waited for everyone to get home so we could go to dinner. I decided I wanted to go to Shiva because I hadn't had Indian in ages, so Zach, Liam and I went with my in-laws and my mom and had a fantastic time. The Clarks got very adventurous with their meals! It was lots of fun. I got to spend my birthday with my family, which is all I wanted. What a tremendous blessing.

{at dinner: contrary to picture, he was very good}

{beautiful flowers I got from my sweet daddy!}

Liam goes to the doctor tomorrow for his 2 month check up (10 days late). They'll be giving him 5- yes, FIVE- shots tomorrow and I already feel bad about it. My doctor said it's best just to go ahead and do them all, because sometimes the injections can make the muscle sore, so you don't want to do 2, make a muscle sore for a few days, and then go back a few days later for the rest and make him sore again. So, yikes. Poor baby. RIght now he's asleep in his swing. He likes his swing a lot, but since we're cramped for space, we keep his swing back in a corner and just kind of forget to put him in it. In our house, I plan on putting it in the living room because I remember how often my mom used my old swing with my brother when he was a baby and I think it'll be nice to have it in a useable space.

Liam has decided he loves for me to hold him, but he wants his daddy's undivided attention. If Zach's not paying attention to him, he will stand up, "jump" at him and stare until Daddy pays attention to him. He talks like crazy, and now gets really excited when his Daddy gets close to his face. He smiles, squeals and talks to his Daddy, thrilled to have him there. So precious. He also is starting to figure out that he knows Steph, Roger and my Mom. Whenever one of them comes over and talks to him (when he's in a good mood), he grins. This is fantastic- I'm glad he's starting to recognize his family. Jethro frustrates him. Lily is the only pet who will let Liam touch her- and he loves Lily. She comes in the bathroom while he's being changed or bathed, she sleeps right near him in bed at night... it's been really good. Jethro gets jealous if Roger or Steph says hi to Liam before him when they get home in the afternoon. He also doesn't like for Liam to touch him at all. He runs away. He's a big titty baby, though. It was pretty precious, Zach was upstairs in our TV room and Lily was sitting on the ottoman and I put Liam up on the ottoman on his belly next to her and she sat there while he rolled over and rested his head on her. I was so proud- my sweet kitty!
{sleeping in the TV room}

{assuming the pooping position... the noises that go with it are fantastically funny}

{about to fall asleep during outside tummy time}

{he's a killer, he's a thriller... mommy making Liam a metal head}

{we went out to check on progress-- we're in his bedroom w/ his bath in the background}

TV Time...
Okay, so September marked the season finale of my new favorite show... which leaves me with little to do on a Sunday night. Except watch the season over again on On Demand. However, my in-laws got us hooked on Dancing with the Stars two summers ago, and So You Think You Can Dance this summer.

I'm rooting for Chuck on DWTS. He's the reason I started liking the UFC in the first place, and it breaks my heart that he hasn't been doing very well in the octagon lately. He did a lot better last night than I thought he would- 3 guys were worse!- and I'm going to vote for him exclusively for as long as I can. After that, Zach and I decided Mark and Lacey are our "good" couple. It's so funny to see Mark in this way, not flipping around KItchen Stadium, screaming random ingredients.
