My cousin Sarah tagged me to do this on Facebook, and apparently I hate the Notes application thing, so I'm going to do it here :)
1) When was your wedding day?
June 2, 2007
2) What day of the week was it?
Saturday
3) Did you get married in a church?
We did, Faith United Methodist on 359.
4) How many people in your wedding party?
5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, 1 junior bridesmaid, 1 flower girl, 2 ring bearers, 3 ushers
5) How many guests were invited to your wedding?
Too many- I'm thinking somewhere around 300
6) How long were you together before the engagement?
Um... we started dating Feb. of 2002. Got engaged in Dec. of 2005. Just shy of 4 years?
7) how long did you wait to Tie the Knot after the proposal?
Over a year and a half! We'd been together for 5 1/2 years by the time we got married!
8) Did you register for gifts? if so where?
We registered at Target and Macy's (biggest mistake ever- Macy's was a disaster!)
9) Who did you hire as your photographer & Videographer?
We hired Niki Gregg of Photography By Niki see: photographybyniki.com
We didn't hire a videographer because nobody ever watches those things anyway.
10) Did you have a DJ or a band?
We had a husband and wife DJ/MC pair. HE was great- she got pissy, but we're thinking it's probably because the groomsmen were giving him liquor.
11) What was your first dance to?
"We Have All the Time in the World" by Louis Armstrong
--- because it's from On Her Majesty's Secret Service and it's the only film in which James Bond actually gets married and I thought it was appropriate and it's a really, really sweet song. Also the last song he recorded, and came out of hospital to do so. Just a really touching piece. Don't judge.
12) Did your father walk you down the isle?
He did indeed
13) What color were the bridesmaid dresses & groomsmen vests?
My ladies wore navy blue, and each got to pick their own dresses from Alfred Angelo. They all looked so pretty and so them. The boys wore black tuxes with navy blue vests and straight ties. Lindy wore a pretty light pink tiered dress and the little boys wore standard tuxes. And all the boys wore black cowboy boots.
14) What type of ceremony did you have?
A traditional Methodist ceremony.
15) What were your flowers?
Hydrangeas (blue), peonies (fuchsia), delphinium, sweet pea, ranunculus... yep, those were the big ones. W filled with gladiola, eucalyptus (ode to Oz) and some snapdragons, but kept to the ones I really wanted. I had NO roses- they're too cliche.
16) What flavor was your cake?
My bride's cake was vanilla cake with vanilla bavarian cheesecake and whipped icing- Zach's groom's cake was chocolate cake with chocolate bavarian cheesecake and chocolate whipped icing.
17) Where did you go for your Bachelorette/Bachelor parties?
We didn't do anything of the sort- we spent the week before the wedding having our best friends in town and we just enjoyed their company.
18) What type of wedding gown did you have?
It was an Eve of MiLady gown in white candlelight silk, with a cathedral train (so heavy!), embroidered with silver coated thread (I wonder if my dress will tarnish over time?) and encrusted with pearls and Swarovski crystals. It's a beautiful dress. I didn't want something that looked like a prom dress, you know, with yards and yards of tulle in the skirt...
19) How was the weather?
Perfect- it was overcast and it didn't rain, but we got a distant drizzle-- which is supposed to be good luck! But it being overcast really helped with that heat.
20) Did you have open bar?
We served beer and wine, and had a signature cocktail for the guests as they arrived, but the party bus made a detour to the liquor store, so plenty of people were doing just fine.
21) Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We did the land & sea package with Disney- we spent 4 days in Walt Disney World and then did 3 days on board the Disney Wonder cruising the Bahamas!
22) What was your favorite thing about your wedding day?
Honestly, I don't know. Having my girls around before the wedding was a lot of fun, and I loved seeing all my best friends smiling at me when I walked into the church. And my car ride with Ashley before the wedding was wonderful- the driver kept us entertained.
23) Did anything go wrong?
Apparently for a while, my wedding band got lost between my mother-in-law and the best man, and one of my bridesmaid's bouquets was missing for a little bit... and the party bus couldn't find the location (*ahem*) so we had to stand outside in the heat for about 30 minutes waiting on them... but little things...
24) How long have you been married?
Closing in on 2 years!
26.)Did you take a Limo or car to the church and reception?
Ashley and I rode in the Rolls Royce to the ceremony, Zach and I rode in it to the reception and then we had a town car take us to the airport after the reception.
27. Did you have a rehearsal dinner and if yes where at?
We had our rehearsal dinner at The Swinging Door on 359. Zach's mom and dad live in the same cul-de-sac as the owner/operators. It was very yummy, very fun and the western theme really thrilled all our out of town guests. Steve even made sure that I had catfish and Alicia had a baked potato!
You can check out photos of our big day in my facebook album.
