updating for ash

I got scolded by my darling Ashley M. to update so I'm going to write a quick update now, before I go meet with a new Advisor at school... I've been shuttled around from person to person and hopefully I can get some stuff hammered out today, after waiting all morning for a phone call or an email from my regular advisor- who is now the Director of Programs for my field- so no wonder, I guess. 

Zach's been nominated for an award among his peers at the Vet School and they're revealing the recipient today at 5:30- I wish I could go to the meeting, but I can't... I know he doesn't expect to win- there were 15 nominees, but what a cool honor that somebody in his class thought well enough of him to nominate him! He's such a doll, and he works so hard. 

My mom came up yesterday and we went to lunch at La Bodega which will be one of my top 5 things I'm going to miss about College Station-- really freaking amazing food. Zach and Cory even made a contribution to the menu when we were going there once a week. We hadn't been since... gosh, football season so it was a great chance to get a good meal and a real treat. 

I'm officially 30 weeks today. I'm out of the 20's... I'm getting close! It's crazy to think that in just 8 more weeks, my man-child will be full term. Wow. I spent one day last week painting for him- I did the letters of his name in block capitals and then in front/over each letter I did a graphic... I guess you could say... the corresponds to each letter. I was so proud of it, I worked so hard on it and I sent a photo of it to my mom and she loved it so much that we went to get it framed for him yesterday. It's kind of a thing with us- mom cross-stitched both my name and my brothers in beautiful colors and had them framed for our rooms when we were small, so it just made sense to get my son's name in his room by my own hand. I realize it's a little silly, at 7 months, still to not have revealed his name... but I'm just not ready yet. 

You should see the updated photos my mother in law sent of the baby's nursery! Oh my gosh- Roger has been hard at work! We have our next appointment on Thursday, I'll remember to take the camera... hopefully- I'm scatterbrained right now ... and I'll try to get some pictures of the room I can post on here- the images Zach has on his computer are too big for Blogger... but that's saying something because they were almost to big for Zach's computer to open, too! 

That's all for now, I just remembered I have to get gasoline before I go to campus so I better get my rear into gear- I need to be on campus, in CSA before the weather hits because our entire campus is covered in attractive looking river rocks that turn super slippery in the rain and not even my super-traction wellies can counter the evil that is the campus sidewalk on a rainy day.
